Self-love is a journey. I cannot tell you enough how learning to truly love yourself will change your entire life. It helps you to be more appreciative, productive, create boundaries and forgiving towards yourself. Ultimately it leads to a happier more fulfilled life. While each one of us is different and self-love can come easier for some people I urge you to start your self-love journey today. Here is my list of 4 Simple Daily Self Love Habits you can start doing today.

1. Start a morning or bedtime beauty routine. While this may sound silly or superficial, it's not actually about physical beauty (but it may help!). It's about you taking time for yourself and taking care of yourself. It can take just five minutes or fifteen minutes. It's up to you. Find a face wash that smell makes you feel good, a toner that leaves you feeling soft and fresh-faced and add a serum or face cream to keep you give yourself some extra TLC. An added trick to this is to start the routine with an affirmation or intention. For example " I am taking time for myself. I am giving attention to myself. I am taking care of myself. Because I deserve it."  Sounds cheesy maybe but don't worry, it's only you and the mirror.

2. Start eating more healthy food. While it may seem like eating a chocolate bar sounds more like self-love to you (it may sometimes be) but being conscious of the food you eat should go beyond your taste buds. Concentrating on nutritious foods will increase energy levels, better mood, better skin, healthier heart etc. The list could go on forever. Before deciding what to eat, ask yourself, how will this benefit my body? Personally, I'm obsessed with researching which foods have what vitamins and why I should eat them, which has made me a more conscious eater.  Practice loving yourself enough to take care of your brain, heart, bones etc. It's the only body we've got.

 3. Do something physical."Let's get physical, physical" Sorry I had to. It doesn't have to be a 60 minute super intense gym session (or it could be - kudos! ).  It could be going for a walk, a run, doing an at-home yoga video, dancing for 20 minutes in your living room or just 10 minutes to stretch. Just start moving and it's scientifically proven to not only have benefits on your body but also your mental state. The more you move the better you feel in your body.

4. Make an " I am grateful list" and don't hold back. While most lists are compiled of things like "a family, a job, money" which is SUCH a blessing, start writing down what it is about YOU that makes you grateful. You may want to list things like " My ability to make people laugh" or "my positive attitude" or  "I'm a forgiving person".  This is your moment to brag or let's say be grateful for your abilities, skills, characteristics and hey why not write down how grateful for you are for your great hair or booty! Talking kindly to yourself and recognizing how blessed as a person you are on your own is life-changing. I suggest getting a notebook and first thing in the morning, write down all the things you are grateful for and don't forget yourself! If you want to write it once and read it every day that can work to but the pen is powerful.

Wishing you self-love today and every day,

Lana
